Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi


Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. After check-in, attend a detailed trek briefing and equipment check with your guide to prepare for the adventure. Enjoy dinner and relax overnight.

Day 2: Moshi to Machame Gate – Machame Camp (3,000m/9,843ft)


After an early breakfast, drive to Machame Gate (1,800m/5,905ft) for registration. Begin your ascent through the lush rainforest, encountering rich flora and fauna. Reach Machame Camp by late afternoon. Enjoy a warm meal and rest for the night.

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840m/12,598ft)


Start your day with a steep climb as the forest transitions to moorland. Cross ridges and rocky terrain, arriving at Shira Plateau with stunning views of Mount Meru and Kibo Peak. Dinner and overnight at Shira Camp.

Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,960m/12,992ft) via Lava Tower (4,630m/15,190ft)


Ascend gradually toward Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Valley. This route helps your body adjust to the altitude while offering breathtaking scenery. Settle at Barranco Camp for the night.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m/13,238ft)


Begin by tackling the iconic Barranco Wall, a fun and challenging climb with rewarding views. Hike through alpine desert landscapes to reach Karanga Camp. Enjoy an afternoon of rest to aid acclimatization.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m/15,331ft)


A gradual ascent leads to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. After an early dinner, rest before beginning your nighttime push to the summit.

  • Habitat: Alpine Desert
Day 7: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) to Mweka Camp (3,100m/10,170ft)


Begin your final ascent around midnight under the stars. Reach Stella Point (5,739m/18,825ft) at sunrise, then push to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement before descending to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Departure


After breakfast, complete your descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate and meet your driver for a return transfer to Moshi. Rest and celebrate your incredible achievement or proceed to the airport for your departure.
